The inspiration for LegisTrackr is the observed gap between public participation in legislative processes, where lawmakers get to vote on significant policies that impact the lives of the state's constituents, and where their choices tend to hold power over the voices and realities of the public.

What it does

LegisTrackr is a cutting-edge mobile app designed to bring transparency and active citizen participation to the Philippine legislative process. Whether you're tracking the progress of proposed laws, engaging with your elected representatives, or voicing your opinion on national issues, LegisTrackr provides a seamless and accessible platform for Filipinos to stay informed and make their voices heard.

The app features real-time bill tracking, enabling users to follow each bill’s journey through Congress, from its introduction to voting and approval. Citizens can upvote, downvote, or comment on bills, directly influencing the conversation and ensuring that the public’s voice is heard throughout the process. For added transparency, users can view the voting records of lawmakers, helping to hold them accountable for their decisions.

With secure citizen verification and easy navigation, LegisTrackr encourages users to participate in governance by making their feedback known while tracking the progress of the bills they care about. Through incentive programs, users can earn points for active participation, which can be redeemed for rewards, promoting engagement and fostering a culture of informed citizenship.

LegisTrackr transforms the way Filipinos interact with the government, helping to shape a more accountable, democratic, and engaged nation by combining accessibility, transparency, and citizen empowerment in one application.

How we built it

We built the application through constant ideations and delving into a tech stack that we haven't touched on—making us explore and learn new technologies for the benefit of developing the app.

Developed a semi-functional application with mobile and web-based integrations within 24 hours, which involved iterated ideations and planning.

New tech stack that has opened up an array opportunities for software development, as well as hackathon realizations (since it is our first time to participate in such a competition)
