Inspiration

Let's Speak Research

We are a group of Data Science Graduate Students who constantly learn and read new research to keep up with the rapidly evolving advancements in technology. With us spending a lot of time commuting, we thought it would be really cool to turn a research paper into some engaging podcast discussions. Empowering by Gemini and other LLMs, we can unlock this exciting possibility.

What it does

Podsicle is an AI app that generates podcasts using research papers.

Specifications

Community:

Everyone can check out community podcasts on Podsicle community page. In the future we hope to recommend the best podcasts to users.

User registration:

Users are required to log in in order to use the Podsicle Playground and keep track of their creations.

Playground:

Users can use the playground to experiment with various Google voices and see how the app turns a research paper link into a podcast.

Action:

Users can take an action on a podcast like giving feedback, like or dislike so that we can improve the model in the future.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We harness the power of advanced language models to distill complex information into accessible audio content, fostering a community of informed listeners and creators who are passionate about pushing the frontiers of knowledge. In this project, we learned to use a lot of tools for the first time. We are very happy with what we built in such a short time.

What's next for Podsicle

In the future, we want to fine-tune the model and add more charisma/persona to improve the podcasts. We'll also expand our knowledge base to include not only just research papers, but also other sources like wikipedia, academic articles. Additionally, a subscription option will allow users to access premium voices from Google.
