Inspiration
When I was traveling three years ago, I realized that many popular travel destinations may not be suitable for everyone. I noticed that while Japan was highly recommended by many people, it did not match my personal preferences. This realization inspired me to create a tool that could help others find a travel destination based on their personality and preferences.
What it does
We built this tool using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and it aims to provide personalized travel recommendations based on the user's answers to a series of questions that reveal their personality and travel preferences.
How we built it
With an HTML page, we created various different sections including a login, profile, quiz, and globe.
Challenges we ran into
It was incredibly difficult to have a decent globe of the world. It was also every difficult to use it. It was also troublesome to incorporate a way to process responses to questions revealing personality and to even provide a way for the user to answer them.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we were able to overcome these difficulties and complete the project as a team of two.
What we learned
We learned that with determination and problem-solving skills, even seemingly impossible tasks can be accomplished.
What's next for POPJUAR
Moving forward, we aim to improve the tool by incorporating machine learning algorithms that use user feedback and ratings to enhance the accuracy of the recommendations. This would allow the tool to continuously learn and improve, making it an even more valuable resource for travelers. We also plan to add more features to the tool, such as travel guides and tips, to further enhance the user's experience.
