Inspiration
We were inspired partly by already existing carpooling solutions and because we believe we've figured out something better.
What it does
It's an app that lets you either register your route, for example, to work or join someone else for their ride, therefore saving up on CO2 and keeping the world a little greener.
How we built it
For this hackathon we built 2 things - the (very early) prototype with NodeJs and Remix that has the proof of concept for creating and showing people's routes and a visual mock-up in Framer that features how a complete app could look like.
Challenges we ran into
Only 1 member of our team is familiar with making web apps so the rest of us couldn't really help much with the code part, but we did find other ways to stay productive.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
How much we've created from scratch in such a short period of time.
What we learned
We learned how to work better as a team.
What's next for Poolcar
We might develop the idea further after the hackathon, but that's not a given.
