Inspiration

We were inspired in do some app for a multiscreen mobile phone game but due to interesting challenges we refactored our idea to a cheap disruptive way to rebuild old arcade machines.

What it does

With a webcam, it tracks colors with high contrast with the background, so we can use the movement of the colors, wich can be anything (a paper, phone screen, etc) to control the games.

How we built it

We built a web application, that can be deployed in a Raspebrry Pi and with a webcam and a screen you can have a diferent arcade machine. It uses native JS, jQuery and AngularJS. We developed the Pong and Snake games as examples. We also develop a very simple tournament manager to improve group playing

Challenges we ran into

We had to find the best way to control the games for this arcade machine.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have been capable of build a different way to play the old arcade games.

What we learned

We learned how to use a tracking API for tracking colors in real time.

What's next for Pongtrack

Find the best way to mount a high end arcade machine using this tecnologies.
