Inspiration

We got the idea from brainstorming tools that would genuinely help us in our own workflow and in improving our productivity. Pomodoro technique is something that has worked for the both of us before, but the tools we new about always wanted for you to press the start button. We wanted something that runs automatically. You can just focus on working or on the break.

What it does

It is a Pomodoro technique scheduler that automatically generates work blocks and break intervals based on a start and end time you define.

How we built it

We built it using MeDo. We analyzed what the app needed to do, then crafted a very in-depth prompt and fed it to MeDo to generate the application.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge we ran into was the time format. MeDo had difficulty converting the time inputs from 12-hour AM/PM format into 24-hour format, which required additional prompting to resolve and in 1 case was not solvable. The second challenge was creating an in depth starting prompt. We wanted MeDo to be as close to our idea as possible on the first generation. Because rewriting introduces more chances for errors and more things need to be tested.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of successfully creating a fully functional app from an idea, taking it all the way from concept to a working Pomodoro scheduler.

What we learned

We learned how to use MeDo effectively to build and iterate on a web application through prompting and how to create good specific prompts.

What's next for Pomodoro work block creator

The next step is to use the app in our daily workflow, discover its flaws through real use, and then expand it with new features — such as calendar integration and the ability to schedule and manage sessions directly through a calendar view.
