Inspiration
I wanted to customize a widely used tool that helps students be more productive and efficient during group or solo study sessions.
What it does
This is a pomodoro timer, a widely known concept, that splits study sessions into 25 minutes with 5 minute breaks in between. After four 25 minute sessions, there is a longer, 15 minute break.
How I built it
I used HTML and CSS for the styling and to make the user experience smoother. I also used Javascript to implement user actions and the actual timer.
Challenges I ran into
Most of the challenges I ran into were with the Javascript aspects. This is one of my first projects implemented Javascript beyond textbook knowledge, so I was stuck on a lot of parts. I also did not have enough time to implement all the ideas and customizations I had, but the overall basis of the project was completed.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I am extremely proud of completing the project to the best of my ability! I had a lot of self-doubt in the earlier stages and asked myself constantly if I was even capable of some aspects. Seeing how far I have come and the final product is very satisfying and I take pride in that.
What we learned
I learned how to think and complete tasks under pressure. I also learned that just because some things did not go my way, does not mean I didn't do a good job.
