Inspiration

Late night studing using the simple clock app on my phone was not cutting it.

What it does

It makes sure that I do all the tasks, that are written on the left side and the timer keeps track of my efforts. The breaks make sure I take rests during long study sessions.

How I built it

I first built a basic login page, that just makes you enter your email and password. Then I build a basic frame. On the top I have a basic bar with a control service on the right hand side, which allows users to change the color theme of the website. On the left hand side there is a To-Do-List where users can enter different tasks that they have to accomplish. In the center we have the timer. Below is the start button that changes into a pause button once clicked. Under that, you can set your timers, so how long eg. a short break should be. And last but not least there is a progress bar underneath that shows how far you've come. On the right you can see 3 boxes. In the first one you can enter your emotion. in the second one random motivation quotes are generated. The really small button regenearates the quotes upon clicking. and in the third box I embedded a Spotify study playlist, that I would recommend while studying.

Challenges I ran into

I'm new to JavaSript so I had a rough time with changing the different color schemes and generating the different quotes.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud of getting all the buttons running and also the fact, that this took me only like half a week to code. And it's my first time doing something like this.

What I learned

I learned some more JavaScript and also had fun retracing lots of CSS functions, that I usually don't use.

What's next for Pomodoro Timer

Not sure yet. I'm definitly using it myself. My brother is also really impressed with it, so it's likely that he will use it too.
