Inspiration
Inspired by the Pomodoro technique for studying.
What it does
This is a Chrome extension that allows you to set timers to use the Pomodoro method. When your timer goes off, the extension will notify you. This extension also includes a penguin pet that lives in your browser.
How we built it
We used JSON, JavaScript, HTML and some CSS to build the extension.
Challenges we ran into
Neither me or my partner had made a Chrome extension before, so this was a learning process for both of us!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We finished this hackathon, with half the time, due to us being forced to be late due to a volunteering for a animal rehabilitation center. We managed to create our first Chrome extension, and a useful tool that we can use to study more effectively.
What we learned
We learned the process that goes into developing and publishing a Chrome extension, along with the inner workings of Chrome extension development.
What's next for Pomodoro Penguin
There are several improvements we could make to the software, and user experience, this is only just a minimum viable product for our solution. There are many more possible features, refactoring, and structural fixes we could make to the code.
