Inspiration
We liked using the Pomodoro technique to study and wanted to create a physical timer that would automate the process.
What it does
Pomobot is a Pomodoro timer to help you study, but also serves as a clock when not in use.
How we built it
Using the ESP32's wifi capabilities allowed us to use NTP to get the time. The OLED display allows us to display the time as well as the timer. Having buttons allows us to switch between the two modes.
Challenges we ran into
Collaborating remotely was a challenge for us, as only one of us had access to the parts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a working project without pulling an all nighter. We also learned to use OLED displays with Arduino IDE as well as ESP32's wifi capabilities.
What we learned
ESP32 and OLED displays using Arduino
What's next for Pomobot
Adding the ability to switch between the clock and the timer without resetting the timer. Making a more permanent housing to make it look nice.
