Polynomial Express

Have you ever struggled to understand polynomial characteristics, solve derivatives, or find solutions/relative extrema?We are a math resource that students can use to gain knowledge of math concepts.

Inspiration

Given that a majority of teens rate math to be the hardest subject, we wanted to create an app to combat this struggle, given the tough times we are in.

What it does

Since math is all about relationships between data, we decided to make a polynomial analyzer that allows users to quickly derive data about an inputted function. Users can do a range of operations from finding critical points like x-intercepts to finding derivative formulas all while getting simple explanations of solutions and extra resources.

How we built it

We built this project using the Python Tkinter module. We ran it in Visual Studio Code, Repl, and Pyrdroid 3. All of our code was created during the hackathon.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges that we faced was to connect multiple files into one main.py file. Another challenge was to meet our brainstorming ideas with our final result. Lastly, placing the button features in the correct position was very critical as it needed to be very user friendly.
