Inspiration
Having personally experienced the frustration of establishing 'bets' with friends online, as well as the increasingly transient nature of online relationships, we took inspiration from popular prediction markets like Kalshi / Polymarket and applied the concept to make a tool that is able to create 'markets' within friends.
What it does
Turns your group chat's biggest arguments into real bets you can actually settle.
How we built it
Supabase, Vercel, React, MaterialUI, Claude API
Challenges we ran into
Balancing our long-term vision of the product as having multiple features with also ensuring an approachable, simplistic UI
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Having real customer/market feedback and hearing that other people would genuinely use our product
What we learned
Developed full stack skills UX/UI Design Incorporating market feedback
What's next for Polymates
Extend concept to create a social platform where there are 'public' bets that everyone can vote on partnership with companies to
extend the token system to have promotions - e.g. you can use the tokens to purchase gift cards
