Inspiration
Web3 gaming, NFTs are a driving force to bring onboard the next billion users to blockchain. Here we combine a hyper casual game which is free to play together with the benefit of winning a free NFT mint.
The player does not need any crypto or wallet to play. But when they hit the score of 600, or they hit a diamond, they win a free NFT mint. So in order to mint the NFT, player will need to at least have a wallet and a little bit of gas token to pay for the transaction.
Thus achieving the following objectives
- casual gamers have fun
- new crypto adopters create crypto wallet
- new crypto adopters topping up wallet for the purpose of paying gas fee
- getting a NFT as reward (which they can learn to transfer and trade eventually)
What it does
Polygon Lottery is a play to mint game that is free to play! Get to mint 5 different kinds of Polygon Diamond NFTs depending on your score. Polygon Lottery is deployed in Mumbai testnet.
How to win a free NFT mint?
- Play 10 rounds of coin drop to score 600 points and above
- Or get the diamond at round 10
How we built it
We built this on Mumbai testnet with a NFT smart contract and Unity WebGL
Challenges we ran into
Mainly challenges were learning how Unity WebGL works with smart contracts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Extremely proud we made something that anyone can just enjoy and have fun winning NFTs!
What we learned
We learnt that ChainSafe has a good SDK that connects Unity game engine and EVM blockchains.
What's next for Polygon Lottery - Play to Mint!
If we win the hackathon and get some traction, we would love to launch this on mainnet.
After launching on mainnet, we will want to explore collaboration with NFT projects and attempt to work out an allocation of their project NFTs to adopt our play to mint game. This can help them gain more exposure for their NFT collection and also increase the number of people holding their NFTs.
Longer term, we will look to build more hyper casual games with the goal of bringing more people to the blockchain.
Team
The team is Bryan and Sabrina; we are team mates in a Singapore-based Web3 Agency - SMMILE. We have been participating in evm-compatible blockchain hackathons and have won prize for NFT category, as well as Best Overall Dapp award. We would love to build a winning product on Polygon!
