Inspiration

Having worked as a farmer with my mother and getting defrauded by financial institutions on loans I had to build a solution that not only would provide a solution to me and my mother would use but also about 48% of farmers in Kenya to help in financial inclusion.

What it does

A platform connecting farmers to investors through Aave and Polygon will provide access to loans with lower interest rates than traditional microfinance institutions. MEAL will ensure transparency, and input suppliers like Syngenta will supply seeds to farmers.

How we built it

Our Polygon Circular Community employs cutting-edge technologies like 1inch Fusion API and AAVE on Polygon to enable investment and lending to farmers in Kenya. With the 1inch Fusion API, community members can access liquidity from multiple decentralized exchanges, resulting in optimized trades and reduced slippage. The integration with AAVE's lending platform provides low-cost and efficient borrowing and lending services, enabling farmers to secure financing for their operations and increase their yields. These advanced technologies support sustainable agriculture practices and economic growth in local agriculture communities in Kenya.

Challenges we ran into

Building a partnerships portfolio for the startup.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Winning a Global stage impact plus global startup entreprenuership on projects for social impact.

What we learned

Working with partners would spur our growth.

What's next for Polygon Circular Community

We want to provide loans and investment opportunities for farmers ot just in Kenya but in Africa increasing food production and promoting agriculture.
