Inspiration### Background

Growing up, multiple group members struggled with communication as second-generation immigrants. Torn between trying to learn English while maintaining their native tongue, there has been a constant theme of linguistic barriers surrounding miscommunication in life.

Mission

We are looking to vastly improve the language learning process. We aim to eliminate the tedious dialect learning process by:

Reducing user input
Improving user experience
Integrating language learning into everyday life

We began with a machine learning model using multiple Python libraries, including:

TensorFlow
OpenCV
Mediapipe
NumPy

Our main feature is live-video glasses, which allow users to point at any object and receive translations in a language of their choice. The translations can be outputted via text-to-speech or through our front-end mobile app.
