Inspiration
We were inspired by the idea of making homes smarter and more connected by combining hardware and software into a single intelligent system.
What it does
Polydôme is a smart home platform that connects physical hardware to a software dashboard, allowing real-time monitoring and interaction with home data.
How we built it
We built the interface using Streamlit and connected it to hardware sensors through a USB communication bridge. The system processes sensor data and displays it in an interactive web app.
Challenges we ran into
- Learning the Streamlit library
- Using the USB port as a communication bridge between the hardware and software
- Ensuring reliable data transfer between components
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Building a complete hardware-to-software solution
- Successfully connecting real hardware to a live interface
- Creating a solid foundation for a smart home system
What we learned
We learned how to design and implement a full end-to-end hardware and software solution.
What's next for Polydôme
We plan to fully integrate the hardware, add more realistic smart home features, and improve the intelligence and automation of the system.
