Inspiration
Video content is being created and consumed at a larger rate every year. Content creators from all over the world are uploading videos for people to watch. However, language poses a large barrier for people from different countries to enjoy all of this new content.
Hence, we created Poly, a service to make videos from all over the world accessible to everyone.
What it does
Poly is a web application that translates the audio of every uploaded video to the user’s desired language while maintaining the features of the speaker's voice.
The original and processed video also each display a transcript for those who would like to read along or are hard of hearing.
How we built it
Poly is a web application built on the Streamlit framework using FragmentVC and Google Cloud's Speech-to-Text, Translation, and Text-to-Speech API.
