Inspiration
We were frustrated about the lack of action surrounding climate change and plastic pollution. We wanted to make our society more aware of this problem.
What it does
Our project informs people about the problem and provides links to sites with the reader can help stop the problem. We have an interactive game to keep the user engaged while they explore our website.
How we built it
We built our project on GitHub and used a free server to view our changes.
Challenges we ran into
There were many roadblocks when building the interactive game. We solved this by working together and scanning the code for errors. We also had trouble using pygbag. We solved this by using pygbag troubleshooting videos.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very happy with how the game and the use of JavaScript turned out. These are by far the coolest features on our webpage.
What we learned
We learned about the horrible effects of plastic pollution. We learned why the government is doing nothing about it. We got more experience with all our languages. We learned how to use git. We learned how to create a game with Python. We learned how to create popups in JavaScript. We learned how to use CSS combined with HTML5 tags to make our website look clean.
What's next for Pollution Awareness Group
We plan to make our website more accessible and connect to more worthwhile causes. We also want to add some fun pages to interact with the user more.
