Pollen

Inspiration

I love the environment, and it pains me to see the carelessness with which we treat it. I wanted to create a project that could make helping wildlife easy, accessible, and fun!

What it does

Pollen is a website that makes ordering pollinator-friendly plants fun! Just answer a few quick questions about which pollinator you would like to service, and the amount of space you have available, and get set up with a personalized set of seeds, ready to order.

How I built it

I built this project using HTML and CSS.

Challenges we ran into

This is my first real coding project, so I had some difficulties transitioning my code from VS Code to GitHub. I also had a very limited amount of time, as I was not able to work on the project for most of the hacking period.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am so happy that I was able to actually write some code, and put a project out there!

What we learned

I learned a lot about HTML and CSS, as well as VS Code and GitHub.

What's next for Pollen

Pollen is currently very rudimentary, so I would love to take it to the next level by adding more advanced CSS, JavaScript, and backend. Ideally, I would add a question about where the person purchasing the seeds is located, and create a package using locally sourced seeds.
