Inspiration
A typical person rarely worries about crime reports. However, when he/she or his/her loved one becomes a victim of a crime, the person has to visit numerous agencies and websites dealing with crime reports.
We found that some counties maintain online lists of crime reports. However, these lists are inadequate for a victim's needs. Without doing the correct paperwork at the correct police office, it is almost impossible to get details needed by the victim.
After experiencing a few PartyRock-based apps, we thought that PartyRock can help us in building an app to fill this gap.
What it does
This Police Crime Report app is an interactive web page that allows a PartyRock account holder to explore information regarding police crime events.
How we built it
In our PartyRock app-generation page, we stated that we want an app that can offer us information about a police crime. PartyRock generated a nice app for us. We adjusted the sizes and positions of the app's widgets.
Challenges we ran into
We were worried about limited resources available with our free PartyRock account.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This app enabled us to test scopes and limitations of Large Language Models.
What we learned
Quite regrettably, we found that the app's responses are generally too vague and not useful. We, therefore, feel that that existing Large Language Models are not yet well trained for dealing with police crime reports.
When we asked PartyRock to create another app to 'Obtain victim details and suspect details for a crime report', PartyRock generated Orange County Crime Report Intake app for filing a crime report. While this app can be used for filing a crime report, it cannot be used for getting information about a filed crime report.
What's next for Police Crime Report
We will try to find or create a Large Language Model for dealing with police crime reports.
