Students repeat the same unhealthy patterns every semester — pulling all-nighters, skipping meals, sleeping less than 5 hours during deadlines and exams. The real problem isn't just "unhealthy habits," it's that students never notice the pattern until it snowballs into something serious. When they finally see a doctor, they can only answer "I'm not sure" when asked about their history — because nothing was ever recorded.
PolaKu is a self-awareness app for student lifestyle patterns, not a diagnostic tool. Students log their daily habits sleep, meals, stress, mood, symptoms through quick taps or a voice note, in under 30 seconds. From that data, PolaKu generates a personal Daily Insight based on the student's own patterns instead of generic health tips, plus a Weekly Recap with four scored components and a downloadable PDF history to bring to a doctor.
We built PolaKu so that correlation flags and scores are calculated deterministically first with rule-based logic, then passed to an LLM only to phrase them naturally preventing the AI from hallucinating patterns that aren't actually in the data. Every insight feature also has a rule-based fallback, so the app stays reliable even if the LLM API fails.
