Inspiration

Many people give up on exercise because fitness apps feel competitive, complicated, or socially demanding. We wanted to create a space where beginners could stay motivated together without chats, rankings, or pressure to respond.

What it does

PokoFit helps users build exercise habits through supportive 14-day groups. Users can complete a daily workout with one tap, optionally add detailed records and a private diary, and encourage group members with preset stickers or gentle nudges.

How we built it

We designed PokoFit as a cross-platform Android and iOS app using Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform. Supabase supports authentication, workout records, group matching, real-time activity, and user safety features. The interface uses shared design components and localized content for global users.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was designing global groups across different time zones. We separated each user’s local workout day from the group’s shared 14-day schedule. We also had to create meaningful social interaction without introducing free-form chat or unwanted pressure.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a fitness experience where social support feels optional and comfortable. PokoFit combines instant group matching, one-tap check-ins, localized encouragement, quiet exits, and inactive-member rotation without turning exercise into a competition.

What we learned

We learned that motivation does not always require conversation or competition. Small interactions, clear progress, and thoughtful time-zone handling can create a strong sense of connection while respecting each user’s boundaries.

What's next for PokoFit

Next, we plan to add richer mascot coaching, premium stickers, health-platform integrations, and collectible digital sports cards. We also want to improve group matching and localization as the global community grows.
