Pokedex

Inspiration💡

We're both fans of the Pokemon franchise, so we decided to make a web application dedicated to it.

What it does 👀

When the name of a pokemon is entered into one of the search bars, a card will appear below specifying information for that specific pokemon. When both search bars are used, two cards will appear displaying the information of both pokemon, and a message will appear specifying which pokemon would win in a battle based on each of the pokemon's stats.

How we built it 🛠

This web application was developed using the React framework and the PokeAPI.

Challenges we ran into 😬

Setting up the battle between two pokemon was exciting however, we did run into some challenges along the way while setting up the computation and displaying the winning message with the image.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🎉

We both felt like this was a great project to try new things with the React framework while making an application we both enjoy using.

What we learned 🏆

We both learned how to make search bars using Material UI in React. This project also gave us a good experience with working on GitHub together, which allowed us to come up with ideas on how to work more productively together.
