Inspiration
Blockchain was a new technology for us, and so we wanted to build an app that would allow us to understand some of blockchain's underlying functionality using a service that aided development, Blockstack.
What it does
PokeDapp is a blockchain app that allows you to store and trade Pokestats with other users to eventually have the highest number of pokemon and pokestats.
How we built it
We built this version off of an initial template for blockstack apps, and added the functionality we wanted using javascript and React.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a number of challenges understanding principles of blockchain and how to build apps that truly honor what it means for a service to be decentralized.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Finishing this version of the app
What we learned
We learned a lot about how blockchains are structured, at least on a superficial level, and how to quickly begin developing a blockchain app using blockstack.
What's next for PokeDapp
Refining and building future versions that extend the functionality.
Built With
- npm-react-javascript
