Inspiration
I wanted to make an innovative design of an electronic dice and the Pokemon franchise inspired the idea.
What it does
It is a 3D model of an electronic dice. It lights up the dots of a dice. By shaking the Pokeball dice it will randomly display a number through the dots that light up. Through every shake it changes to a random number each time.
How I built it
I used the software Fusion 360 by Autodesk to create the design and tested out different materials and colours to get the design I wanted. To make the electronics and inside more accessible I added a screw design. I also added a mock circuit board with LED's and fused that to the design.
Challenges I ran into
Originally I thought of having to flat tops to make it easier to lay the see-through plastic cover. I then found a way to wrap around a see through hemisphere and still make it have a sleek design.
Achievements
- An aesthetic design with functionality
- An ergonomic design that fits into the palm of your hands
- It can be easily maintained with it's screw open and close feature
What's next for Pokeball Dice 3D model
Possibly designing the electronics for the dice.
