PokeAPI Amazon Alexa Skill

I had to develop a custom Alexa Skill that integrates an with an Open API. Naturally I'd pick http://pokeapi.co

What it does

Currently It only reports weight and height of the pokemon you ask for, I will add the rest of the API features over the next few weeks

How I built it

I had to write an Alexa Skill Adapter and prepare publishing information in the Amazon developer portal and write an AWS Lambda function.

This was developed in VSCode.

Challenges I ran into

Debugging can be difficult because it requires packaging and redeploying the code to AWS.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

3 Hours from scratch to MVP.

What's next for PokeAPI Amazon Alexa Skill

More API features! The API supports a whole bunch of other Poke mon related things. I'll work adding useful features over the next few weeks.
