Inspiration

Why can't real life have save points? Logadia takes that familiar RPG idea and turns it into a place journal: a way to remember a favorite cafe, an ordinary walk, or a trip with people you care about.

What it does

Logadia turns places worth remembering into save points on a personal or shared map.

  • Save a moment: record your current location with a photo and a note, then revisit it on the map or in your history.
  • Explore together: create or join a party of up to 12 people and collect memories on a shared map. Actor colors help identify each member's saved points.
  • Make it yours: choose an adventurer icon and an RPG-inspired visual style, with a font setting for a more conventional reading experience.
  • Share the journey: use party pings and weekly digest sharing to bring attention back to the places your group has saved.

The map displays saved places rather than a continuous route or movement trail.

Free and Pro

Saving places and sharing party maps are available for free. Free saves include one photo and a note of up to 200 characters, with 90 days of visible history.

Logadia Pro, powered by RevenueCat, expands saves to 10 photos and 10,000 characters, unlocks full history and detailed statistics, adds custom icons, more actor colors and map themes, and removes ads. Monthly and annual plans offer a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. The store displays local prices and renewal terms before purchase; subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled.

How I built it

  • App: Flutter and Dart, with Riverpod for state management and Freezed for data models.
  • Maps: the Mapbox Maps SDK for Flutter, with custom save-point and adventurer presentation.
  • Backend: Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, and TypeScript Cloud Functions, with an OpenAPI-based API workflow.
  • Subscriptions: the RevenueCat Flutter SDK for offerings, purchases, entitlements, and restoration.
  • Notifications: Firebase Cloud Messaging, with notification preferences and quiet hours.
  • Release workflow: Fastlane and a shared release configuration for the iOS and Android stores, alongside localized app and store text.

Challenges and lessons

A shared map joins several pieces that have to agree: signed-in identity, party membership, saved-place data, and subscription access. The implementation separates these responsibilities so that joining a party remains part of the free experience while Pro applies to richer journaling and customization.

Another challenge is keeping the product story aligned with what actually ships. The current app uses Mapbox's Flutter SDK and Firebase notifications, and its map is built around intentional saves. Clear boundaries between free features, Pro benefits, and future ideas make both the app and its submission easier to understand.

Accomplishments

Logadia launched publicly on August 25, 2026 and is available on both the App Store and Google Play. A single Flutter codebase brings together location journaling, shared party maps, an RPG-inspired interface, and RevenueCat subscriptions.

The linked demo shows the app in action, including shared-map interactions and the Pro flow. Both store links below lead to the released app.

What's next

The next focus is improving first-time understanding of save points and party maps, learning which sharing experiences bring people back, and evaluating acquisition and subscription results with a larger audience. These are future priorities, not additional features claimed in this submission.
