A random idea inspired by our experiences in elementary school during the month of April which is Poetry Month.

What it does

Selects a feed from BuzzFeed and a haiku is generated from that feed. You can then text that haiku to yourself or a friend so you can have a poem in your pocket.

How we built it

Devised an algorithm for generating lines based on parts of speech and syllable count from words derived from sub buzzes. Set up a database. Set up Twillio. Deployed the web app on Heroku.

Challenges we ran into

Counting syllables and front end development

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Used two APIs. Made poetry. Good team building experience

What we learned

Web-development, BuzzFeed API.

What's next for poem-in-your-pocket

Dynamic database. More sensical language semantics.
