Inspiration

There are many podcasts apps out there but it's very difficult to navigate through them. So I've designed a minimal podcast app that houses all the requirements for a common podcast listener🎧

What it does

Has a curated list of podcasts in an app with a very minimal UI Design

How I designed it

(Screen Wise) 1 ) Splash Screen: A splash screen is very important as it engages the user until the assets are loaded and also it has the branding of the app

2) Login Screen: Adding an authentication layer to the app is very important and most important is how easily the user can go past the boring step of entering their credentials. I have added the traditional username and password field but to fasten things up and also improve the user experience I have added the Google, Apple, FB Sign in options.

3) Home Page: This is the home page of our app. We can revisit all the podcasts we were listening to earlier. It should also have a recommendation section but due to lack of screen space, it's not added here. Below there are also the Different tabs once could explore

4) Minimalist Player: Once a user taps the podcast he wants to listen to, the minimalist player will open by default which has a minimal sound-reactive bar and all the basic options one will require. By default, the transcript mode is not enabled but there's a button to the right which enables it.

5) Transcript Player: By clicking the little Tt button on the right side will enable this mode. After enabling the transcript of the podcast will appear instead of the soundbar. One can always click the button and toggle between 2

Challenges I ran into

•The first challenge I ran into was that I don't listen to podcasts. So, I had to download some apps to see how it actually looks like •Other than that there are not many challenges I faced, except time :p As this hackathon is during the night time and I have to sleep before 3 so I won't be able to utilize the full-timing. So you can say I had roughly 4-5hrs to make this.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

•I'm proud that I successfully participated in my first hackathon and worked under strict time constraints (5 hrs)

What's next for PODS

•I will surely be completing the full design and uploading it to my Dribble and Behance. Also, I'm a learning developer so I'll try to make this a real app.
