Inspiration

It all started last week when i began searching for tech podcast around the internet, I saw so many of them outthere. But the downside is that, they are paid podcast which means i have to pay just to listen to some podcast on a perticular theme, we all know how this is frustrating. Having this in mind led me to develop podcasty, a spotify like platform which allows users to browse thousands of podcast from the itunes store using apple API.

What it does

Users can simply go to the site, search for whatever podcast show they'll love to listen to, create playlist, add this songs to this playlist and vioew them later. It also enable users to stream the podcast online for free.

How we built it

It was built using React.js for the UI and node.js for backend API along with xml2js library which enable me to convert xml file into json objects.

Challenges we ran into

One of the challenges i ran into was not able to complete the project in short time and also dealing with conversion of xml file into json objects which can then be sent to the frotend for consumption.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Am proud to develop some of the core functionalities

What we learned

I learnt about ways of communicating from the frontend to backend via API gateway.
