Inspiration
Bri is a very detail oriented person. Her schedule planning consists of her writing down a list of tasks and checking them off as they get done. She decided it would be so much easier if her phone notified her when she had a gap in her calendar and that she had time to work on one of her top priority tasks rather than her having to schedule that herself.
What it does
It will help you schedule your tasks when there is availability on your calendar!
How we built it
The backend is in Node.js and MySQL. The Android and IOS apps were build through Ionic which builds on top of Cordova. The desktop app was built mostly with Node.js, Ionic and HTML. We also used some css skills to make it look prettier!
Challenges we ran into
Getting the phone apps and desktop apps to communicate properly and then getting those to communicate with the servers.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning Node.js, Ionic and having it as multi-platform.
What we learned
That it is important to plan the features of the project within the time scope.
What's next for PocketWatch
Adding features such as time buffers, adding events to the calendar, etc.
