PocketPup 1.1.1 beta: little walks, more personality
The newest PocketPup build turns a daily walk into a little adventure with your illustrated dog. Walking now has its own space in the app, with time and distance tracking, gentle milestones, and an animated companion that follows your selected dog avatar.
Make the walk yours: • Your pup, in motion: dog-specific walk cycles bring the profile illustration into the walking experience, with matching artwork on the start and summary screens. • Scenery that changes with the moment: scrolling paths and foliage, day and night lighting, seasonal surroundings, and rain or snow effects respond to the environment. Weather is also saved with the walk when available. • Your pace, your goal: choose time + distance or a location-free timer, then pick a 5, 10, or 20-minute milestone—or 0.5, 1, or 2 miles. Pause, resume, and finish whenever your pup is ready. Milestone markers approach and pass by as you reach them. • Your story to share: finish with an animated summary and award artwork, add private notes and potty breaks, then optionally share a walk card. Customize the caption, choose Friends, Global, or your Doghouse, and decide whether to include time, distance, and weather. Routes, precise location, potty details, and private notes stay out of the shared card.
The beta also adds walking challenges and leaderboards for a little friendly encouragement. Behind the scenes, the dog animation and scenery are separate systems, so we can keep improving each pup’s movement and expand the environments independently.
This latest round also fixes oversized walking badges and Closet back navigation, simplifies profile editing, and introduces new PocketPup-branded navigation icons.
Now rolling out to testers: Android 1.1.1 (29) and iOS 1.1.1 (8). External TestFlight access is pending Apple’s beta review; this update is a beta preview, separate from the public release.
