This project began with a simple thought: why isn’t there a finance app made just for teens? Most money apps feel too serious, too complicated, or too adult. I wanted something that felt friendly — something that didn’t make money management stressful. The idea of combining personal finance with social features like planning trips with friends made the project instantly more exciting. It felt like building a tool that could genuinely make a difference in how young people think about money.
When I started building the app, I used a no-code platform to move quickly from idea to prototype. I designed a layout that was clean, minimal, and based entirely on solid colors, because simplicity was key. Then I added the core features: private user accounts, friend connections, shared trip planning, and easy expense tracking. Integrating an AI insights system was one of the most fun parts. I created prompts that help the AI speak in a supportive, teen-friendly voice, give weekly summaries, and even explain spending trends in a way that feels encouraging rather than judgmental.
Along the way, I learned a lot — not just about app building, but about user psychology. I realized how important tone is when giving financial advice to teens. I learned how to structure data for personal and group expenses, how to simplify budgeting without removing important details, and how to make the app feel warm even though it’s dealing with numbers. Working with prompts taught me how to guide AI into giving helpful, human-like insights that actually make sense in everyday life.
Of course, the journey wasn’t perfect. Getting UPI-related notifications to behave the way I imagined was challenging because of device restrictions. Designing privacy-safe ways for users to connect with friends took thought. Making AI explanations both accurate and easy to understand took a lot of trial and error. But every challenge pushed the project forward and taught me something new about design, technology, and communication.
In the end, this project feels like more than just an app — it feels like a tool that could genuinely help teens build healthier money habits. It blends simplicity, social connection, and smart AI guidance into one experience. And even though it started as a small idea, it grew into something that feels meaningful, practical, and surprisingly human.
