Inspiration

We thought about history in the very streets that we live in--how many stories must have passed in the same place we stand. Even if most of it is lost to time, there are still many who put in so much effort to preserve a record of our past. We were also inspired by Black History Month, and other American holidays that are a symbol of our history, and we wanted to make learning more about our past more accessible.

What it does

Our app shows historically relevant locations nearby, with short blurbs to entice interest--but not be overwhelming. It is up to what catches the user's interest on what to explore next. Upon clicking on a location, more descriptive information will be given, followed up with the ability for the user to ask direct follow-up questions with our groq integration.
