Inspiration

Millions of Americans face two invisible barriers to healthcare: no easy access to a doctor, and insurance Prior Authorization (PA) delays that make even approved care unreachable. We built PocketDoc-PSA to put a knowledgeable, instant medical advisor in everyone's pocket — no appointment, no insurance battle required.

What it does

PocketDoc-PSA takes a plain-English symptom description and returns a ranked list of probable diagnoses, an interactive 3D anatomical model highlighting the exact injured structure, and a predicted treatment timeline with Prior Authorization risk flags showing where insurance is likely to delay your care.## How we built it

Challenges we ran into

Getting anatomically accurate 3D models was the hardest problem — AI-generated images looked nothing like real tissue. Switching to BioDigital's pre-built medical geometry solved it instantly. Prompt engineering Claude to return consistent, structured JSON for medical differentials also required significant iteration.

What's next for PocketDoc-PSA

Voice input for hands-free symptom entry, a live PA database pulling real insurer approval rates by diagnosis, and a mobile app so PocketDoc-PSA is available anywhere — especially in underserved communities with limited clinic access.
