Inspiration

Inspired by citizen-led small-scale agricultural production in Cuba during the "Special Period" of the 90s. Our solution translates this approach to modern-day United States and incorporates AI technology. :joy:

What it does

Educates novice gardeners on what to grow based on their zip code, acting as a virtual information concierge for every step of their growing journey.

How we built it

Our project consists of 2 parts: Part 1 - AI We built our AI using next.js and gpt3. Utilizing react, and opanai's API. Part 2 - Website We built our website with next.js, which serves as a great framework for a website and APIs!

Challenges we ran into

The greatest challange we faced was combining our Ad, AI, and Website into a project that is well connected and functional.

What's next for Pocket Planting

Develop the next prototype for the code with the aim to iteratively improve the AI's ability to provide more accurate and specific information to meet users' needs. Add additional langauge capabilities to diversify our consumer base. Increase website functionality.
