Inspiration: We were inspired by our first month at university and how hard the transition has been, especially in our finances.
What it does. This project simulates a students typical month at university, and the decisions that they have to make financially.
How we built it. We built it using python.
Challenges we ran into. We had issues with our global variables, and recursive functions.
Accomplishments that we're proud of. We're proud of our collaboration for our idea, and how we came together as a team to build Pocket Planner.
What we learned. Some of us have not coded in python before, and are now able to comfortably code in the language.
What's next for Pocket Planner. We plan to work on Pocket Planner in our free time. We want to base the expenses on location, so that it reflects differences in rent and lifestyle. Students will be able to apply for loans to manage tuition and living expenses. There will also be grocery shopping options, the student will be able to choose between different types of stores. Each offering varying prices and product selection.
