Inspiration
We were inspired by playing with Tomogachis.
What it does
Simulates a pet that you need to feed, otherwise it will starve
How we built it
Used Arduino and C++ programming knowledge, along with modeled and printed a plastic case to hold the electronics.
Challenges we ran into
Accidentally wiring it backwards and burning a screen, as well as making it keep the hunger even when off.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Getting the whole project put together
- Finishing the code
- Seeing our pet be animated on screen for the first time ## What we learned
- Pixel art and animation
- Uses of LCD screens
- EEPROM on Arduino
- CAD softwares
- Arduino IDE ## What's next for Pocket Pet
- Making it smaller
- Adding more functions (defecating, playing games, step counter, making it encourage physical activity)
