Inspiration
We noticed a problem among our peers where many people, including college students and young adults, struggle with managing their bills and saving for the future. We saw a need for a solution that would make the process easier and more accessible.
What it does: This is an app that helps you manage your savings, and educates people on how to prepare for their retirement.
How we built it
We started by designing the application on Figma, focusing on creating a user-friendly interface. Then, we used Swift programming to build the functionalities of the application. We tested the application multiple times to ensure its reliability and ease of use.
Challenges we ran into
One of the biggest challenges we faced was making the application appealing to a wide range of users with varying levels of financial literacy. Another challenge was integrating all the features we wanted in the limited space available on mobile devices. However, we overcame these challenges by continuously testing and iterating on the design and features.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
In conclusion, we are proud of the application we built and believe it will make a positive impact in helping people manage their finances and plan for the future.
What we learned
Through our research, we learned about the importance of financial literacy and the need for tools that can help people better manage their finances. We also learned about the basics of bill management, saving, and retirement planning.
What's next for #13: Pocket Pal
- we plan to integrate push notifications using the Twilio API to send reminders to pay bills and deposit recommended savings monthly
- we plan to integrate open AI gpt3, and natural language processing to have an automated live chat function in order to increase our user's access to information and help them better plan for retirement
