Inspiration

We were inspired by our individual journeys of learning Chinese and how apps can help people learn in the modern age.

What it does

It is an application that allows users the ability to learn Chinese on the go. There are several categories to choose from and each category has a word with the Chinese character, the meaning in English and the written pronunciation.

How we built it

We decided to use Figma as our design prototype and decided on easy to learn Chinese words for users. We designed the look of the opening screen, the category screen and the vocabulary screen with a simple but good looking design.

Challenges we ran into

The time limit and how Figma works were some of the challenges we faced as a group.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned how to use Figma and create a beautifully designed application.

What we learned

We learned how to brainstorm and create a full project as a team.

What's next for Pocket Chinese

We would like to add a pronunciation media button for users to click on to hear the correct pronunciation of the word. We plan on adding more words and categories for learning.
