We are all conscientious individuals who feel like the plight of abused animals does not receive enough attention. We built this game to raise awareness among the younger generations about the dangers of abusing animals and what it can cause.

What it does

It stimulates what a poacher who forces animals to fight for sport might do. It forces the player to take the role of such a poacher in order to better show the immoral actions they commit.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges when trying to make this game as realistic as possible. It's incredibly difficult to make a virtual existence resemble real life, considering the vast amount of things people and animals require to live.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're all fairly new to Unity, so this was a great learning experience for us all. Getting the player and animals to save between opening and closing the game was a confusing task which we are proud of.

What we learned

We gained a more depth knowledge of how to use the GUI object in Unity which is a huge part of making games and very visual based applications such as our own. It forced us to figure out how to design and style a game with little to no prior knowledge in the subject.

What's next for PoachEMon

In the future we hope to make the game more realistic and immersive to the user. To do this, we would like to add more health statuses to the animals such as hunger, sleep deprivation, long lasting injuries, and more.
