Data is pivotal to so many aspects of our life to date, from hospitals to businesses. The collection and procuration of data is one of the most important aspects of any company, including the two types mentioned before - hospitals and businesses. Hospitals collect data from previous patients to analyze symptoms and develop treatments, and businesses use this data to conduct market research to observe what their customers want. Unfortunately, only 33% of people actually respond to surveys sent out by companies, according to recent studies. We aim to alleviate this issue by introducing our solution, Plutus.

What it does - Allows brands to know what their users want while providing users with incentives to be part of data collection initiatives.

Plutus is a novel and revolutionary new technology that streamlines the process of data collection. The combination of a well built application along with our incentive system means that our users will have a much higher survey completion rate. Plutus has 2 profiles - user and brand. A brand profile will be able to post polls for the user to complete along with being able to see the exact percentages for each choice. The user will be able to answer said poll and earn PlutusCoin for that, along with being able to spend this coin in the Marketplace on a variety of NFT options.

How we built it - Built through a combination of Firebase, JS, and React. We initially decided to split our team and have half of us work on the front-end development and the other two do backend development. However, we realized that our backend component was much more important than anything else, so we focused on completing that first. We set up multiple firebases so that we could work on each component of our backend, and then we compiled it all together.

Challenges we ran into - Many many challenges - a lot of errors regarding backend/frontend. Another challenge that we faced was that we ran into a few integration issues at the end, so we were not able to connect our functional marketplace component to the rest of our app.

We faced many challenges throughout this project, but using our critical thinking and problem solving skills, we were able to overcome many of these challenges to come up with a working solution that accomplishes most, if not all of our goals. One of the main challenges we ran into throughout the project was connecting the backend to the front end, and all 4 of us faced this same issue. However, through the use of inductive reasoning and research skills, we were able to overcome this massive roadblock to create a working prototype

Accomplishments that we're proud of - As beginners, our team was able to learn a lot about higher-level programming languages such as react and JS. In our time frame, we were able to successfully design a somewhat functional app that involves both the user and brand sides.

What we learned - About react/js

React and javascript were both fairly new languages to all of us, and I think that we learnt a lot about these languages as a whole, including syntax, common errors, and a new feature of downloading packages, all of which were unfamiliar to us before.

What's next for PlutusCoin - incorporate blockhain into NFT marketplace

PlutusCoin has tremendous potential which can not be unlocked in just 24 hours. We plan to improve and streamline the user interface to make the user experience more enjoyable for everyone. We also plan to incorporate an official blockchain into our web application while also talking to companies and seeing if they would be interested in using our application.
