What Inspired Me The inspiration behind FlowFix came from working with local service providers who often struggle with outdated websites that lack modern design, mobile responsiveness, or a user-friendly way to take appointments. I wanted to create a sleek, professional, and conversion-focused template specifically for plumbers and heating experts — something they could launch quickly and use to build customer trust.
What I Learned This project helped me sharpen my skills in creating service-focused UIs that drive user action. I gained deeper experience in building form-driven interactions, using responsive grid layouts, and ensuring strong mobile-first performance. I also focused on clean animations and micro-interactions that add polish without slowing down performance.
How I Built It I built FlowFix using a modern, lightweight tech stack ideal for fast-loading templates and flexible customization:
React for component-based development
TypeScript for maintainable and scalable code
Vite for fast development builds and optimized performance
Tailwind CSS for clean, utility-first styling
shadcn/ui for prebuilt UI components like modals, buttons, and accordions
Key features include a clean homepage, service detail sections, testimonials, FAQs, a contact form, and booking CTA buttons — all wrapped in a modern and trustworthy layout ideal for plumbing & heating professionals.
Challenges I Faced Designing for trades like plumbing meant keeping the interface super intuitive, with large touch targets and bold CTAs for users who may be in a rush or on mobile. Another challenge was balancing visual appeal with simplicity — many templates overdesign service sites, but I wanted clarity, speed, and trustworthiness. I also spent time testing form integrations and optimizing the structure for local SEO and conversions.
