Inspiration

What it does

This project was inspired by the concept of collaborative creativity and the power of collective storytelling. The idea stemmed from imagining a game where anyone could start a story and an advanced language model (LLM) would continue it, weaving imaginative narratives based on user contributions. The twist? The community plays an active role in shaping the story by voting on options and contributing ideas for how it should continue. This creates an ever-evolving, interactive experience that combines AI-driven creativity with human collaboration. The other twist? We sue reddits comments and voting system which are much loved.

Challenges Faced 1. Balancing Human Input and AI Creativity: Ensuring that the AI-generated content remained coherent and aligned with the community’s vision was a key challenge. Sometimes, the AI would stray from the established context, requiring additional fine-tuning and prompts. 2. Engagement: Encouraging consistent participation from users and maintaining interest over time required careful design of the voting and contribution mechanisms. 3. Scalability: Managing the technical demands of real-time user input and LLM interactions, especially during high participation, posed logistical and performance challenges. 4. Content Moderation: Filtering inappropriate or disruptive inputs while preserving the creative freedom of participants was an ongoing task.

Final Thoughts

This project demonstrated how AI can augment human creativity and foster collaboration in unique ways. It also highlighted the potential for building community-driven platforms that blend technology and imagination. The result is not just a game but an ongoing experiment in collective storytelling, where the boundaries of creativity are pushed through the synergy of human and machine.

How we built it

chatGPT api using the a devvit server-side script. I use webview for the frontend.

Challenges we ran into

So many! Developing is challenging... I'm still managing strategies to properly count only new comments, and other intricacies.
