Inspiration There are alot of tech stack apps for every organisation but risk teams using slack needs to juggle between different apps and find data and compliance rules with governing bodies and find relevant data across multiple forums
What it does simply put the plix app pulls the data from mcp servers of the company and real time data with yfinance integration and then checks them with compliance and give a heads up with reason to the team in slack itself
How we built it most of the work is done on slack developer org and in vs code with python used socket mode to make a secure websocket connection so the data stays with the user the backend relies on SQlite database to mask a corporate data and block kit handles the UI
Challenges we ran into there were some issues with the RTS used and also we used small data to mock a company one since it cannot handle large data without apis
Accomplishments that I am proud of building Quant architecture in slack and including RTS,MCP technologies for real case scenarios
What I learned is to make changes to code and slack ai based on the event required and the function that it needs to do also learned a lot with slacks block kit json
What's next for plix to make advanced financial forecasting by adding large datasets and queries with the help of llms
