Inspiration

Inspired by the need for sustainable urban transport solutions, Pliscoot aims to address the growing challenges of congestion, pollution, and limited storage in cities. The vision is to create an eco-friendly, compact, and versatile vehicle that seamlessly integrates into urban life.

What it does

Pliscoot is a foldable electric scooter designed for both individual commuters and logistics applications. Its lightweight structure, high energy efficiency, and customizable cargo options make it an ideal choice for navigating city streets while minimizing the carbon footprint.

How we built it

The development of Pliscoot involved extensive research and design iterations. We utilized advanced materials like AISI 4130 for the frame, ensuring durability while maintaining a lightweight profile. The integration of a 48V lithium-ion battery and high-efficiency motor optimized energy use, while rigorous testing, including finite element analysis (FEA), validated the structural integrity of the design.

Challenges we ran into

We faced several challenges during development, including balancing weight reduction with structural integrity, designing an effective folding mechanism, and ensuring battery efficiency for adequate range. Iterating through these issues required innovative problem-solving and collaboration within the team.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully developed a prototype that folds in under 15 seconds, allowing for easy transportation and storage. The logistics add-on feature has been tailored for customizable deliveries, enhancing the scooter's functionality for various users. Our analysis confirmed that the frame maintains a factor of safety greater than 1.5 under maximum load.

What we learned

Throughout the project, we learned the importance of user-centric design, the value of sustainable materials, and the need for thorough testing to ensure safety and performance. Collaboration and open communication within the team were essential for overcoming obstacles and achieving our goals.
