Inspiration:
We are a group of friends who love to hang out at football turfs, snooker parlors, gaming cafes, etc. every weekend. There were very few such venues to hang out, and people like us were more in numbers. We used to wait hours sometimes just to get our turn to use the equipment and gaming consoles. Then we thought of developing a booking website to reserve such places beforehand to avoid waiting. In addition, we also thought to add more such venues, which is why we classified the categories into two parts, which are indoor and outdoor.
What it does:
Our main objective is to design a web application that enables users to reserve play areas like grounds, turf, indoor games, gaming, and other outdoor activities. These can be booked based on the available time slots. This web-app concentrates on all the areas, irrespective of Popularity of the place. It basically allows users to go through the nearest indoor and outdoor games. According to the placeβs availability, they will be able to book that particular venue at their desired times. It is as simple as booking a hotel! We provide city-wide information along with their pricing and location. It has a login interface for information privacy and an API connected to it in order to make online payments.
How we built it:
We built this project using front-end technologies like HTML,CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap, and for the back-end, we used MongoDB, Express JS, and NodeJS. We will further update this project, and our vision is to get it out into the market.
Challenges we ran into:
We found it difficult to set up the payment method, and we are also going to face challenges in gathering information about such places and then uploading it into our web application, which is part of regular maintenance. We will also face challenges to get into the publicβs eye and get them used to it. Taking a live example from the hotel industry, we believe that we can grow globally as the No. 1 start-up in this sector.
Our game plan and targets to make this successful:
We classified our targets from two perspectives:
- B2C (Business-to-Consumer):
Professional Players- At our top priority, we aim for Professional players who look for Great & Well-Maintained places to Practice or train with their Teams
Corporate Companies- All the venues can be easily reached by companies to organize an event or any other friendly matches.
Distraction-Seekers- People seeking a weekend of fun with friends and family or with such hobbies can use our website to reserve the desired time slots as per the availability of the venue.
- B2B (Business-to-Business): Tier-1 Venues like cricket grounds, golf courses, etc. can be booked very easily without visiting the place beforehand.
Tier-2 Football turfs, badminton courts, tennis courts, and other places like these can be booked, which might provide regular business to them.
Tier-3 Small-scale gaming cafes, snooker parlors, table tennis courts, and other indoor games can be booked. This gives small businesses more visibility, making their businesses grow.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Taking the present scenario into consideration, obviously it is not possible for a big startup to be deployed into the market in a single day, but we are happy to make a web application that is at the prototype stage and does almost all operations except the payments and a few backend operations. We need more brains and partners to make this fully work, which is going to be implemented very soon.
