Inspiration
We were stumped on the thinking part. Eventually, I thought of some world problems and an idea that had always been in the back of my mind--pollution.
What it does
Our code is about pollution. There is a power plant at the top right corner and a girl named Abby who will give you the instructions again. The instructions are quite simple. All you need to do is press the spacebar and it shoots lasers. Try to aim these lasers the power plant. This represents stopping pollution in the future.
How we built it
We built our code, Play Pollution, using Scratch, or scratch.mit.edu. We added code bit by bit. We had to be very patient.
Challenges we ran into
In our code, we had a little problem with the lasers that shot out, but eventually we fixed it. It was mainly the thinking and planning part that we were stuck on. We switched topics from Global warming and covid all the way to pollution, but planning and thinking was the hardest part for us.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of two things: Firstly, to put our coding experience all the way into one project, and second, to work together on this fun project.
What we learned
We had a great time. It was a good experience, having a deadline and putting our coding experience to use. We learned about being patient because we were panicking when our time was ticking.
What's next for Play Pollution
Hopefully we enter the competition next time. We had a lot of fun, so we definitely might. We now know to be prepared and patient!
