Inspiration

Music is a part of life that connects us with each other. Our inspiration comes from homemade mixtapes for your significant other as Valentine's Day is coming up soon.

What it does

Making the perfect mixtape by hand takes patience and time to convey how much you care. After prompting the user for a sentence, our program Play Love does this for you instantly.

How we built it

We used a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an interactive website using Spotify's API.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into challenges in all stages of our code. This even included connecting our computers to our GitHub. A significant challenge was learning from scratch how to connect to an API. We also had to deal with the functionalities of then() functions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

As a team of first-year students that have essentially no experience in web-development, we were able to successfully connect to the Spotify API, create a playlist, and even add songs that match keywords into that playlist.

What we learned

We gained a rough understanding of applying APIs. We also learned how to Git Pull and Push to work on the code as a team. We learned how to use the localhost on our computers and how to organize html and script files.
