Inspiration

There is already a service operating for redBus. Then how is AirPay different from them?

1.Hassle free. (No installs, No 5g) 2.We don't market ourselves as an in-house video database. Instead, we provide them the journey time remaining and let them decide what to do next. (fair enough) 3.No user login (hence no storage of personal data)

Business Scenario

1.A passenger in economy class needs to know, how long does it take to reach his destination. 2.He sees one of Airplay's Poster. He connects his phone to the wifi and connects with our app. He found that it would take him 30mins to reach his place. 3.Just below the travel progress bar, he sees a search bar and the list of videos which he would be able to finish watching, in his free 30 min. 4.He starts watching them and forgot how the time flew. Here and there, some ads too ($) 5.He was happy that he saw only videos that he could complete in that time span.(He didn't end up watching a half movie)

What it does

1.Shows the time journey progress in a clean slider. 2."Airplay for 30min?" in the search bar just below the slider invoking curiosity in the passenger's mind. He scrolls a bit and finds a rich variety of videos that he could complete in 30mins. He started watching them. 3.With every minute the list is updated based on journey time left. 4.He was entertained and well not mentally pushed out of plane, in the middle of some movie :P

How I built it

1.The time to reach the destination is already available in the flight. And also the videos ( same shown in business class).

2.Since this data is not available online, I have used an online DB (Firebase) and updates the time_to_reach_destination manually (for a demo mockup).

3.Have used ionic ( a hybrid app platform) so that, the passenger could use the app, the moment he connects the intranet.

Challenges I ran into

1.Integrating firebase database via angularfire2, which had undergone a breaking change on 03/10/2017

2.Limited resource.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

It is an honor to be a part of this hackathon. My teammate couldn't come due to unforeseen reasons. But I choose to come here and build this hack. And I have something that can be shown as a first level prototype of my business idea.
